ELVIS

Glenn Kidder

Streamed "Elvis." Austin Butler - quite the Elvis doppelganger! Excellent performance; of course it did attract some Academy Award interest. Tom Hanks was also outstanding, as always, as Colonel Parker.

I wasn't always crazy about the style of filmmaking, however. There was a lot of quick-editing—montages that were too hard on my eyes, and didn't really add to the narrative for me. But this film is definitely worth seeing, if only to learn more about the life of the King, and how he was abused and taken advantage of by those he trusted. A cautionary tale, for sure. Great soundtrack!
