Chef

The VIDEO GUY recommends: "Chef" (and thank you Andy Mo for turning us on to this gem!). Written, directed, produced by, and starring Jon Favreau, and co-starring Sofía Vergara, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt, Bobby Cannavale, Dustin Hoffman, and Robert Downey,Jr., this film was a total joy! Favreau's character's artistic cooking skills, his relationship with his son, social media, a renowned food reviewer, L.A., New Orleans, a food truck - all are whipped together. Oh ... and the FOOD. WOW, the food! It's a story about living one's passion, and recognizing priorities in life - familiar plot lines, perhaps, but cooked to perfection here. Favreau has been around awhile...some of his "big movie" directing credits may surprise you if you're not aware of them. With "Chef," he brings his considerable talent to a smaller story; one with heart and humor and a reminder that we don't have to compromise. GUARANTEED SMILES! And you WILL be hungry half way through; we had to pause the film and go make some food! When that happens to you, be creative.
